What the worm does in a run

The sandworm is a burst fail state, not a raid boss with a public HP bar. It comes out of the sand. The mouth is the threat. Staring at the three arches while you sprint is how people walk into it. Crowding another avatar is how two of you die in the same burst.

If you hoped [SANDWORM] meant a raid event with a timer, that is not what the live place showed. The worm is part of the desert loop, not a weekend world.

The September Snapshot recorded 158,768 visits and 6,400 favorites on a 5 September 2026 pass. A later recheck the same day showed 164,718 visits and 6,592 favorites, with about 440 playing. Those numbers move. The systems did not: 15-player servers, individual progression, three-arch goal, flower-toothed worm.

A real later patch would change light, worm timing, +1 behavior, rebirth, named Spirit/Sin rates, or the store. Until that happens, treat this SANDWORM note as identity, not as a season. Launch notes still describe the run.

Play the worm, do not wait for a trailer
